The New Food Craze?

Tornado Potato

Robinsons Place, Ermita, MANILA
(in front of Robinsons Supermarket)

During one of our rare free times, Sam and I stumbled across a new food stall in Robinsons Place.

Tornado Potato is already a popular concept in other countries and now it has hit Metro Manila. Basically, you have a potato twirled around a stick. You then choose from the available flavor powders to coat your potato. Choices are: Italian Herbs, Rosemary & Thyme, Basil, BBQ, Cheese and Sour Cream.
The potato on a stick is placed inside the bag, followed by the powder, then shaken, and voila!

Most of the potato is crunchy, much like a potato chip. But the end of the potato is softer, like a boiled potato. It's quite tasty, although I wish they hadn't put in so much flavoring since it was a bit overpowering. It's also a little bit challenging to eat this. Sam resorted to snapping off the crunchy potato bit by bit, while I ate it like I would eat a barbeque. It's messy, but nonetheless, it's a great snack especially for kids, kids-at-heart, and people who love to try new things.

Makati, QC, and Manila: 3 cities

Monday, September 28, 2009
2 months and counting... Already we've been all over Manila, Quezon City, and Makati. It was only recently, though, that we decided to post our "adventures" in a blog. Too bad we didn't think of this earlier, but in any case, there's still a ton of places we have yet to explore in the 3 cities closest to our hearts. And after that, there are still a lot of cities to see. This is only the beginning.
